We are now taking bookings for our flu vaccination clinics. Having your flu jab is a really good way of helping to protect yourself, your family and friends from this potentially serious illness.
Patients will be receiving text messages and letters in the coming weeks with a link that enables direct booking into these clinics – these appointments can also be booked by contacting our reception team on 0115 927 9119 – please try to call in the afternoons.
The following groups of patients are eligible for vaccination
- those aged 65 years and over
- those aged six months to under 65 years in clinical risk groups (those who have one or more long term health conditions)
- pregnant women
- those in long-stay residential care homes
- carers
- close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
Additionally, from October, the following groups will also be able to book their appointment
- 50 to 64 year olds not in clinical risk groups (including those who turn 50 by 31 March 2023)
- Secondary school-aged children focusing on years 7, 8 and 9 and any remaining vaccine will be offered to years 10 and 11, subject to vaccine availability.
Finally, we will be in touch with parents / guardians of all children aged 2 to 10 (but not 11 years or older) on 31 August 20221 (i.e. up to school Year 6) to offer the seasonal nasal flu vaccination as soon as we have confirmation of delivery dates.
