Non-urgent advice: General practice is not the safest place for managing medical emergencies

If you have

– Chest Pain which is central or crushing or is affecting your breathing and has not settled after 15 minutes

– New facial weakness, difficulty talking, arm weakness

– Altered consciousness or fitting

– Major bleeding

– Major trauma

then you should call 999 for assessment and assistance, or attend your nearest Emergency Department if it is safe to do so.

Urgent health care needs

Our local urgent treatment centre is able to deal with a wide range of urgent healthcare needs without an appointment and is located on London Road in Nottingham (NG2 4LA).

They are open 7am to 7pm, 365 days a year.

  • Suspected broken bones, sprains and strains (X-ray service available)
  • Eye infections or minor eye injuries
  • Minor burns or scalds
  • Minor head injury with no loss of consciousness
  • Skin infections or animal bites

  • Non-urgent treatments and management of long term health conditions
  • Routine activities such as blood tests, blood pressure checks, suture removal and ongoing wound dressing

When we are closed

Outside of our opening times, urgent medical advice can be obtained from the national 111 service, either by calling 111 or using the 111 online service.
